Description How To More Details

The Crazyflie Nano Quadcopter Kits are open source, and designed for flexible development and hacking. It's among the smallest in the world, weighing only 19 grams and measuring 9 cm motor to motor. This thing is tiny.

Due to itís small size itís perfect for developing new software and can easily be flown inside. It can lift a payload of up to 5-10 g. This 10 DOF version integrates sensors for altitude and heading measurement as well.

The Crazyflie is open source, so schematics and firmware/host source code is available at the Bitcraze website as well as a Wiki with design information and details on how to set up the development environment and get started. Itís designed with development in mind and has an expansion header that enables developers to expand the platform.

Please note: this kit requires soldering for assembly and is not recommended for beginners. In order to get flying, a few items that aren't included in the kit are needed. Please see the "more details" tab above for more.

No directions with the copter. Incomplete website February 22, 2014
Reviewer: Michael Lloyd from Weimar, TX United States
There is a 5 pin header in the package and do directions for what to do with it.

I've tried 2 motors for motor #2 and it does not spin during POST. Soldering in a second motor is orders of magnitude more difficult than installing the original motor and that is very hard to do. You cannot do it without some sort of lighted magnifier.

Great product, controller difficult to configure February 13, 2014
Reviewer: Alexi from Durango, CO United States
Configuration of a input controller is difficult and a bit spotty. I found it hard to get good instructions on setting up a game controller to fly this guy. I tried Ps4 USb, Xbox BT and USB on PC and linux and could not get any to work with software right away. I followed the wiki instructions.
I did finally get the Ps4 controller to work with PC. Yaay.
I was starting to get a hang of it.
Crashed the little guy, not too hard I thought.. seemed like a light crash, but now the Nano stopped working. Wondering if something happened to the chip or a connection on the micro-controller.  Debating getting another but wish the price was a bit more reasonable for such a delicate quadcopter.

Awesome! December 28, 2013
Reviewer: Sidney from Santa Monica
This product is great. It was a ton of fun to put together. I am currently learning how to fly it (there is a bit of a learning curve) then I will start on the coding. As far as the controller is concerned in the is other guys comment, yes the controller set up may not be easy. I said "may" because if you already have your comp set up to work with a PS3 paddle then it'll be as easy as plug n play. Otherwise (like my case for example) you have to download the Motioninjoy software, and drivers, to get your controller working. There aren't many tutorials out there on how to do this so again there is a bit of the curve, but isn't that a part of the fun? I definitely recommend this little quadcopter, just make sure you have some patience before you start
