Hook up a monitor directly to your BeagleBoard BeagleBone using this DVI-D cape! The DVI-D cape provides a DVI-D interface for BeagleBone boards and plugs right into your 'Bone. It features a standard HDMI connector which can be connected to a DVI-D monitor using a HDMI-to-DVI-D cable (not included.)

Only 21 pins are required to use the shield; 5 for control and 16 for LCD data to provide 16-bit color output. The rest are available to expansion and prototyping.

BeagleBone DVI-D Cape --Dead Dog Delivered To Me October 23, 2012

First, I purchased a lot of products from Make Shed and I'm an experienced builder and electronics repairman.  I received two capes, which out of the box one was broke and the other later failed to work with a new monitor (DVI capable).  I have an ESD mating and a good ground system.  I wasted an entire night troubleshoot both units.  My beaglebones both work, my monitor, and HDMI to DVI -D cables also work, so these units are defective.  The online notes do not even mention what to do if something goes wrong.  I googled for help, checked the beagleboard.org site, and I went as far as to ask a question on the IRC chat---basically no help what so ever!!!  I not sure if there are known issues with the capes.  What a waste of $50 bucks each!
