This kit came complete, the instructions for putting it together (found on the manufacturer's website) was less than specific. Also the lights weren't as bright as I thought them to be. Also there may be '30' modes, however I've only been able to get maybe 5 modes to work correctly. Far less interesting than they lead you to believe unfortunately.

I bought two of these to do as project for my kids. First time solder project for me (I've desoldered stuff, and done wire-to-wire, this was the first-time through-hole).
Very easy... both worked fine. No problems. Instructions were clearly labeled, and were a great learning experience.
And the kids? They love them. New "night lights" for them... :)

I got this kit along with the Tiny Cylon, soldering practice kit and Herby the mouse kit. Of the four kits I got, this and the Tiny Cylon were the best. They are very small(as in tiny in size) but worth the money. The instructions were very easy to follow and written well. I would recommend this to anyone learning to solder and as a great intro to electronic kits!

I enjoy building kits that have well written instructions and work the first time the power is switched on. This is certainly one of those kits. The design and layout of the pcb was great. It's small and does require some manual dexterity, but a 'helping hands' gadget and some masking tape helps keep the board secure while soldering the led and transistors in place. I would have given this kit 5 stars if the finished product could have all been fitted in a small project box. I ended up securing the pcb to the battery box with a rubber band - it works, but doesn't do justice to the unique design.
