Ultimate "Beginner's" Guide

This is a great "book" for those just getting into 3D printers. It covers the basics, shows a lot of what you can do with one and (most importantly) compares a lot of (consumer level) machines. These comparisons are done very well, and there seems to be no bias toward the brands that they stock.
This should be the first reference for people just getting into 3D printing. I think it would be difficult to write an "ultimate guide" to any technology that is evolving so quickly, especially after all the hype that just came out of the CES show. I think that next year's version (and I hope they print one) will be twice as thick and will cover a lot more!

Ultimate? Nope.

I purchased the “Ultimate Guide” as I acquired a Mendel “kit” this year.I figured an “Ultimate Guide” would be just the ticket to get me going with the printer. I was even willing to pay the $7.55 shipping for the book.
But wait, it’s not a book… it’s a magazine… WITH ADS! Make should have shipped the guide by First Class mail as it's a skinny little thing, but they shipped it Priority at a waste of about $6.00 of my money.
As far as the contents of the guide:
Let’s just say that you are not going to read this and walk away knowing how to use a 3-D printer. You will know ‘some’ stuff about 3-D printing… but probably nothing you couldn’t pick up on the internet in an hour or so... except for the printer comparison.
By no means is this an “Ultimate” guide to anything… except maybe buying a printer. Did I learn anything? Yes. Was I disappointed? Definitely. I’ll wait until it gets to a local bookstore and I’ll take a look next time.

seriously, guys? considering who you are, this is beyond ironic. why in the world would i want a paper copy mailed to me at a cost almost doubling what the magazine sells for when i could just download a copy? it's a waste of resources. i hardly ever buy print books anymore if i can help it, and i like having my research collection in digital form because that makes it so much easier to search it.
please reconsider and offer a digital download for this report. i'd happily buy it then.
