This book is a must have for anyone that grew up during the Apollo missions or is a real fan of NASA's Apollo program.
There's technical & fun stuff in here, including console displays during the Apollo 13 explosion - exactly what the EECOM was seeing. An extensive list of acronyms; the layout of the MOCR including who sat where! It even delves into the type of jokes the guys would tell.
There is a CD-ROM included that has over 3 hrs of audio from the Apollo 13 & Apollo 15 missions & a 55min video about the Apollo 13 explosion.
The CD alone is worth the price of the book! There's nothing like listening to exactly what the Controllers were hearing at the time of the famous "We have a problem" call. No editing or redaction, this is the raw feed just as it happened. It really puts you in the middle of the event!
This is a very well organized, easy to read book that pulls back the curtain for a fascinating peak behind the scenes of some remarkable space-flight history.
