Forget that other guy that's having problems with his OS. I've programmed these things in OSX, WinXP and Linux (Ubuntu 8.x).
I love how simple these are to program - there are many code examples to check out so if you haven't written much code before, I suspect you maybe able to figure things out from the examples.
There's a lot of additional Lilypad stuff out there, sensors and whatnot, you may want to buy some of that stuff at the same time, otherwise you'll be somewhat limited.

I was so excited about this - and it does not appear to work with windows Vista. It would be nice if that were mentioned.
