Great for beginner |

This was perfect. Easy to understand, but still informative and not pitched too low, even for an adult beginner like me. Comes with great materials, useful once you've finished the fun projects in the book. Glad I got this gem!

I'm sure this is a great kit. I got mine today and wouldn't you know it, like everything else, I managed to break it in my first few hours.
I built the power supply and it was working great, until I went to take pictures of it and accidentally bumped into the breadboard. I knocked out the negative wire from the battery holder and it landed in a peg between the LED and the positive end below it. I corrected it and it no longer works. I pulled out the LED and did a continuity test with my multimeter and of course... it's dead.
*sigh*

Defiantly a great starter kit for anyone interested in getting started with electronics. Even for kids this will be a good kit as long as someone with at least a minimal knowledge of electronics is assisting.
Pros:
Fun Simple projects to get to know electronics and good price for the included materials.
Cons:
The document with the projects at times can be a bit vague; sometimes doesn't fully explain what part each component plays in the circuit.
Improvements: With a new version of the documentation this could be a 5 star kit
