Poor laser cutting |

Overall, the kit is nice. Took a bit of googling for me to find out what the acrylic piece was for (it's to mount the arduino board to). The laser cutting on the acrylic wasn't done too well and some of the forms were un-punched. Despite my best efforts, I ended up cracking it trying to punch out one of the holes. Other than that, it's a fine kit. Not sure two 9v cases are necessary (one's to mount to the acrylic). Some (any!) paperwork would have been nice, just to know someone didn't forget to add some kind of manual.

A nice collection to get you started. I just wish there were specific tutorials for the included components, or at least some links to the data sheets.

I really started getting interested in Arduino after I attended Maker Faire '08 and saw the huge variety of things people were doing with it. I've had tons of ideas of what I could do with my own ever since, so I was thrilled when I got this kit for my recent birthday. As a complete beginner (and in way over my head), this kit has been great so far for learning the basics.
My only complaints with the kit are that the switch on the 9v battery box seems to be broken, and the harness did not come with the plastic rivets for attaching the Arduino, and instead only came with tiny screws that are a bit too small to really hold it down securely. It would also be nice if the kit had a picture inventory of the individual components, or optimally the datasheets available on the website.
All in all I'm very pleased with the kit, and I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.

This is a great kit. I got one to help get myself started tinkering around with the Arduino. This kit along with the book "Getting Started with Arduino" are a great combo.
The only things I don't like about it are the fact that none of the components are marked as to what they are. This is confusing to a beginner like me. Also, the harness kit that comes with it... doesn't actually fit the Duemilanove board. It's made for the Seeduino, an Arduino clone, and I wasn't able to fit the Duemilanove board that comes with this kit on the harness.
