As seen in Make Magazine. Part comic strip and part science experiment, Howtoons shows children how to find imaginative new uses for common household items like soda bottles, duct tape, mop buckets, and more — to teach kids the "Tools of Mass Construction"! Howtoons are cartoons that teach 8– to 15–year–old readers "how to" build, create, and explore things. Combining a fun, full–color cartoon format and real life science and engineering principles, Howtoons are designed to encourage kids to become active participants in the world around them.

He loved it! February 8, 2010
Reviewer: Laura from Santa Rosa, CA
I bought this for my friend's 8-year-old son for Christmas. He loves drawing and figuring out how things are put together. I thought he might like this, but wasn't sure because I thought it might be a little too advanced. Wow! He LOVED it. As soon as he unwrapped it, he started reading. He went through the entire book, and would periodically come up to me and explain some of the experiments. His mom said to him (probably for my benefit), "I can tell Laura really knows you well, because she got you a present that really suits you."
