Description How To

If you've ever struggled to use a solderless breadboard with an Arduino, you understand how frustrating it can be! The Boarduino clone acts just like an Arduino, and works with the latest Arduino software. For many projects it can even be preferable! The kit includes all parts necessary, and the assembly is straightforward and well documented.

Please note: Since this Boarduino doesn't include a USB chip, you'll need an FTDI to serial converter like our FTDI Friend to program the Boarduino.

Boarduinos are great. October 20, 2010
Reviewer: Anthony Mack from Silverado, CA United States
Boarduinos are not just for experimenting.  I have used them for 5 projects around the house and for Halloween stuff. You don't have to solder the legs on.  You can leave them off and solder wires directly to holes on the board.  You can add all kinds of inputs and outputs like switches, pots and LEDs.  For example: to add a pot, solder one side to the "5v" hole, the other side to  "gnd" and the wiper to "a0".  A call to analogRead(0) returns 0 to 1023.  I recommend getting just one "FTDI TTL-232R USB-to-TTL serial cable" ($20) and share it between all of your boarduino projects.  I also recommend getting the "9V Wall Adapter Plug for Arduino" ($6.50). It works great for Boarduino too.
