i just purchased one just before the sale WTF i paid the full $100.00... thanks for that...
the kit is well done... the small wire is hard to work with...the silkscreening on the board could have been better. just follow the instructions... and it does not say when to put the led's on. be careful and it will turn out.

A little frustrating

I got the bot in the mail and was really excited to try it out! I started working on the pcb and soldered it up without any problems, or so i thought. The real problems started when i tried using that very little wire. It was hard to work with and broke constantly. So i upped the wire gauge a little and that seemed to work fine. The instructions were a little hard to follow through the black and white. And the batteries were dead in the flasher ... also when i went to bolt up the carriage i just barely touched the plastic as i pushed the bolt through and it snapped in two. So i taped it up and that seemed to be okay... I finished up everything and put the battery in, i flipped the switch and nothing.... It could be my fault but so far alot of things were wrong with the kit so im not sure i have to find some time to trouble shoot it but all in all its been a very frustrating experience. Again it might just be the builder but for the price and the quality im a little let down.

A full day's build, but fun

I just finished mine, and although it took all day, it really was a well-done kit. Everything in place and the instruction were clear.
The sensitivity of the sensors is not adjustable, so you may find that the behavior is pretty random depending on the light in the room, but it's fun to watch it bumble around. The cellphone sensor thing is kind of silly and I never got it to work right. I would have preferred some programmabiliity.
Finally, just don't do what I did and assume that those thrusters are pushers. Unlike most other blimps the props face forward, so orient your payload right!

Let them roam...

I just received my Blubber Bot kit and in a fury, I have built it up. The kit itself was nicely prepared and packaged. The only thing I would have added was a CD-ROM with the manual on it. It's difficult to get the details out of the B&W print out. Jed was kind enough to send me a link to the PDF version of the document which made all the difference in the world.
I'm ready to build some more of these house manatees now. Just watch out for ceiling fans!!!
