This is a fun toy !!! This is a very interesting toy project !!! Took less than 45 mins. with modifications ! Even though instructions are not available in English, photos in the kit are very straight forward and easy to follow. I did have a problem with balance. Tenergy AA NiMD batteries help with footing balance as they are heavier than HD or alkalines. Also tightening the plastic caps at ends of shafts @ end of shoulder pivots help also. This slows down the free pivoting of the self balancing arm motion which throws the standing up and walking motion "out of whack". This robot does not have an on/off switch That works properly so I installed one mini switch on the back cover assy. You can coil a small copper wire and use a glue gun to extend the length of the rear verticle actuator because the switch I installed inhibits its functionality. GREAT TOY !!! I highly recommend this FAST assembling project!!!

My 6-year-old son and I just put this together. The fact that it can do what it does without any brains is just amazing. We kept stopping it and just staring at its innards to figure it out. In fact, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the instructions look like they have some excellent pages dedicated to explaining how it all works; but we can't read it!

My 12 yr old granddaughter put this together in an hour or less with my looking on. As with all Gakken kits, you have to look at the directions very carefully to get some of the tricker parts put together.
Once together, watching the robot run around, fall (or get knocked down), then right itself is a lot of fun.

Following the pictures, I put this kit together in 10-15 minutes. The trickiest part was figuring out how to work the on/off switch, which is a plastic button that slides between the battery and its contact on one of the feet.
