This Hand Dynamo Cross Rotor Helicopter has two contra-rotating rotors, driven by one small electric motor that's connected via a cord to the hand-powered generator. Build one of three configurations or try one of your own! Easy to build -- instructions are in Japanese but feature highly detailed assembly pictures (sorry, no English translation at this time). Required some tuning but that's the fun December 26, 2009

I bought this for my 11 y.o. nephew for Christmas but he didn't have much interest in it for some reason;  with his permission I pretty much put it together and got it flying.  There are no english instructions and assembling it using the abundant images was fairly straightforward but a little challenging.  The vehicle worked immediately but required some tuning of the umbilical placement to get it to fly more or less stably.  Try to email me if you want my tips.  I took some vid's of it flying pretty well but I see no way to post here.  This item is a bit overpriced IMHO but that is to be expected considering its unique characteristic.
