Japanino (Arduino clone), 8bit Micro Computer with LED lights which swing back and forth on a moving bar (similar to a POV), which you can program to spell out words, through your Mac or PC. It has eight analog input pins and fourteen digital input/output pins. You can insert it directly into the USB port on a computer. You can also use it separated from a computer by connecting it to the provided battery-box. The P.O.V. is a device that writes characters and draws images in midair using the afterimage effect produced by the human eye. It comes with seven red LEDs and a speaker that emits sound built-in. Easy to build -- Included instructions are in Japanese but feature highly detailed assembly pictures, you can download English PDF in the "How To" tab.
MAKE is proud to be the exclusive distributor in North America for these brilliant kits from Gakken.
