After first attempt to put this kit together, the sound was very faint and barely audible. I disassembled and re-assembled twice to no avail. On the fourth try, I soldered all connections and now everything is working great. I wish it picked it up more stations, but works great for what it is.

I recently built this kit and enjoyed the experience. No soldering needed. Translated instructions were very clear. The completed radio works gratifyingly well on strong local stations. Regeneration control is very smooth. Parts are very high quality. Assembling and winding the Litz wire antenna coil can be tricky. Don't try to rush it. It was a delight to make the last connection, put in batteries, and get immediate results.

I received this kit for Christmas and assembled it the same day in an hour or so. The kit was complete, but the instructions were in Japanese, so make sure you download the English instructions from the website. The radio oscillates a lot, but I am able to get reception of two or three Spanish stations inside my house. The sound form the speaker is very faint, I do not know if this is the way it is supposed to be. I have not tried outside yet. The kit comes with a crystal earphone, but for some reason it does not work. In short, I am happy with it. but I think it is a little pricey for what it offers.
