Have you ever tried taking video using your digital camera but never seem to have enough light? Does your camera have trouble focusing in the dark? LEDs are cheap and so are resistors, so why not make your own LED Video Light? With this second-generation kit from ProdMod you'll transform a simple battery holder into a fully functional LED Video Light that you can attach to your digital, film or video camera. It runs on 3 AA batteries and lasts over 7 hours. It's so slim you can slip it into your pocket or purse and use it as a wide angle flashlight.

Excellent kit January 16, 2012
Reviewer: Doug from Leonardtown, MD United States
The parts in the kit are very good quality, and end up producing a quality product.  Along with the previous reviewer, I thought the instructions were a little difficult to follow when it came to the resistor wiring. The light is super bright, and works well with my camera.

LED Video Light Kit April 19, 2011
Reviewer: Barrie Clark from Corona, CA United States
I just received this kit and am very impressed with the parts selection, however, I am disapointed with the instructions.  They end before the project is completed.  They stop at glueing the mounting screw to the nut.  The parts include a 5/8" long 1/4-20 hex nut with a 1-1/4" set screw and a 1" long cap head screw.  How are they mounted and used?   The kit includes five resistors (2-1.3Ω 1/16W, 1-1.3Ω 1/4W, 1-2.2Ω 1/8W and 1-3.9Ω 1/8W) but only defines the use of three for the alkaline battery usage.  The 2-1.3Ω 1/16W are connected in parallel and then in series to the 2.2Ω.  If one wishes to use NiMh batteries how are the other resistors connected.  And by the way, although the instructions indicate 1.2Ω resistors, the kit includes 1.3Ω, not a big deal but worthy of note.  Can anyone complete the instructions and define the alternate resistor usage?
