Hundreds of makers all over the world have built this launcher and rockets since its release in
MAKE Vol. 15. Now you can too! We included almost everything you need to get started right away! Just add a Bicycle Pump, Tape (Masking, Duct, Electrical and Teflon recommended,) two 9v batteries and you are ready to blast these paper and tape rockets hundreds of feet in the air with just a few pumps!
While the design of the launcher has been modified a bit, making it more practical for home or school use (new compact stand and now uses two standard 9v batteries) but it’s the same great project that has wowed crowds by the thousands. This kit is simple to build and perfect for individuals, small groups or science classes. Once you build the launcher, additional rockets can be made for just pennies each. All parts for the launcher are heavy-duty; built to last for years of high flying fun. The rockets are reusable, clean, and can be legally launched on a small field in a big city. As projects go, this kit gives you the maximum bang for you buck. Believe me, folks are quite taken by the 200- to 300-foot flights fueled by 18 or so bicycle pumps of compressed air. Whether you’re launching on your own or with a whole group of rocketeers, watch the crowds gather … 3, 2, 1, and away!
