Put an Arduino anywhere! The Arduino Mini is a small microcontroller board based on the ATmega168, intended for use on breadboards and when space is at a premium. You can plug it into a breadboard or put it in a socket soldered into prototyping board. Like the full-sized Arduino boards, this runs at 16MHz, and its ATmega168 offers twice as much program space as the ATmega8 on the older boards (16KB vs. 8KB).

Be sure to reset before loading programs... November 4, 2008

After reloading the bootloader on my mini's I've determined that the you have a very short period of time to get your program loaded.  So, before you load your program, reset the mini and start loading it in a few seconds.
