Description

A cover slip is a very thin piece of glass or plastic that is placed atop a specimen on a microscope slide. The cover slip confines the specimen to one plane—minimizing the need to refocus constantly as you examine different parts of the specimen—and protects the objective lens from contact with the specimen. These premium glass cover slips are 22 mm square and #2 thickness (0.17 mm to 0.22 mm). Although still very fragile, these #2 coverslips are thicker than more common #1 or #1.5 cover slips, and less likely to break. Handle only with forceps and use care to avoid the sharp shards. Supplied as a one-ounce box, individually vacuum packed in foil, that contains about 100 cover slips. Premiere brand.
