Methanol, also called methyl alcohol or wood alcohol, is an essential chemical in any home lab. It is used as a general solvent, as a chromatography solvent alone or in combination with other chemicals, for preparing microscope slides, as a precursor for numerous syntheses, and as a component of several specialized test reagents. We provide reagent-grade methanol, which can be used for any of these purposes. Danger! Flammable! Poison! Vapor harmful. May be fatal or cause blindness if swallowed. Harmful if inhaled. Cannot be made non-poisonous. Also available in 100 mL size.
