With the Make: Getting Started with Google's Science Journal kit and an Android phone (not included), your child will have everything they need to create hands-on STEM projects using Google's Science Journal app as a guide.

What is Google's Science Journal? It's a digital science notebook that helps kids and adults explore the world around them. With this Android app you can record data from sensors on your Android phone or your Arduino 101, take notes, and learn scientific processes like predicting, observing, and interpreting data.

What's Inside

This kit contains an Arduino 101 and the electronic components and craft materials you need to create projects developed by Google and the Exploratorium in San Francisco. For your very first project you'll create a wind spinner. You'll be able to use the same kit for a new activity coming this summer from Google and the Exploratorium. Over time, more kits and activities will be available on g.co/sciencejournalapp.

What's You'll Need

  • Android phone - Your phone must support BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and be running Kit Kat or above to use the app with the kit.
  • Download Google's Science Journal app
