First off: The instructions for this kit are not included in the little ziplock baggie. You need to download them. Not a problem in this day and age, but I wanted to note it.
There's not much to this one. A little circuit board, a battery holder, a couple of LEDs and some other components. The board is well enough labelled and designed. The instructions were quite clear and instructive.
It took about twenty minutes to get this one together. Works just fine.
This might not be a good first project for kids. The board is rather cramped. Let them learn soldering on something a bit bigger.
I bought a second unit for a project I'm working on. I plan on putting the LEDs on longer wires and sticking them in the eye sockets of a plastic Borg head. You could probably think of similar uses for it.
