RETIRED

Description How To More Details

This kit will be retired. But fear not, already in the works are a new version of this kit called the Arduino Project Kit, a Getting Started with Arduino Kit, and an Arduino Parts Bundle. So although it's sad to see this go, rest assured we are working on bigger and better for you.

Arduino is a tool for making computers that can sense and control more of the physical world than your desktop computer. It's an open source physical computing platform based on a simple microcontroller board, and a development environment for writing software for the board. Arduino is open source!

In addition to the genuine Arduino, resistors, buttons, and other goodies, we've also tossed in our best-selling Making Things Talk book. This starter kit will help get you started quickly without having to source a lot of parts and do a lot of shopping. Check out the "How To" tab for some helpful links to provide support and contact with the growing Arduino community. Happy hacking!

Kits are the way to go. November 16, 2009
Reviewer: Todd from Fort Pierce, FL United States
This was my first Arduino purchase and I could not be happier. I am a neophyte and electronically illiterate tired of watching friends and netziens have all the fun. Through Make Magazine and their Blog have been encouraged to try my hand at the Arduino.

I must say this kit was an excellent opportunity for me to get started. The kit and the book that was included got me started in this hobby and had the right mix of parts, both assembeled and unassembeled to get me going quickly.

With the assistance of on online resources and outside Arduino support, I was able to use the kit to create several training projects. Now, I am using the Arduino to create projects on my own and impress my friends and family. My colleagues at work are also impressed.

Buy a kit to get you started quickly!
