SHOP NOWThe LemurBox is a multi-utility DIY STEAM kit that bridges the hitherto distinct worlds of 3D Computer Vision, Geometric Optics and Large Language Models.
It is a highly modular and customizable Pepper’s ghost diorama box that can be built from its constituent components without needing a single drop of glue or a screwdriver using only the principles of frugal science and friction fit design.
The vision behind this device framework is that of a BYOD (Bring Your Own Display) AI-ccessory hardware that does not enhance the silicon footprint of the planet and instead transforms your smartphones or tablets into a highly engaging AI powered 3D Extended Reality (XR) device.
Once the user builds the LemurBox, they can install free AI powered 3D apps onto their display device (smartphones and 7 inch tablets supported) and place the smartphone into the projection chamber. The 3D digital asset is now projected into the diorama chamber below as a Pepper’s ghost and the user is able to view and interact with the 3D digital asset that can be a passive 3D digital model or an AI-powered 'interactive 3D' avatar.
The user may customize the aesthetics of the device by not just changing the diorama landscape but also by 3D printing and inserting their own pediments, templates are available for free on the LemurBox website.
The end-user can also extend the utility of this kit to use it as a passive monitor or a two-way holographic chat box by using off-the-shelf screen-mirroring free software such as Google remote desktop or even use it as a teleprompter by attaching a camera to the back-panel.
The kit is shipped as a DIY kit made of just three components:
There is also a highly active youtube channel where they upload and curate LemurBox compatible videos that the users can play to convert the device into 3D virtual aquariums or a dinosaur theme park.
