Detection scope: RayHunter flags suspicious cellular signaling associated with possible cell-site simulators and abnormal tower behavior. An alert is an indicator for investigation, not proof; absence of an alert does not establish that an area is free of surveillance.
The Orbic RC400L with RayHunter and DagShell installed is a compact LTE hotspot modified for privacy research, cellular awareness, and portable network diagnostics.
This unit comes preloaded with both:
RayHunter - an open-source cellular surveillance detection tool designed to identify suspicious cellular behavior, possible IMSI catcher activity, forced downgrade behavior, and abnormal tower conditions.
DagShell - a custom terminal-style firmware interface for the Orbic RC400L that adds advanced network diagnostics, privacy controls, wardriving support, and field research utilities.
Together, RayHunter and DagShell turn the Orbic RC400L into a powerful privacy-focused field device for researchers, network administrators, journalists, activists, hobbyists, and anyone interested in understanding the wireless environment around them.
RayHunter provides cellular-network awareness and monitoring features intended to help detect suspicious tower behavior and possible cell-site simulator activity.
RayHunter may help identify:
RayHunter does not require an active SIM card for basic monitoring functionality.
The Rayhunter Dashboard can be viewed at 192.168.1.1:8080 once connected to wifi.
DagShell adds a terminal-inspired web interface with privacy, diagnostics, and network research tools.
DagShell features include:
The DagShell Dashboard can be viewed at 192.168.1.1:8443 once connected to wifi.
DagShell includes support for Wi-Fi scanning and wardriving workflows when paired with compatible hardware.
Supported research workflows may include:
Some wardriving and GPS features require additional hardware, such as a Raspberry Pi companion device and compatible GPS receiver.
Advanced DagShell features can be expanded with a compatible Raspberry Pi companion setup.
Optional companion features may include:
Raspberry Pi, GPS dongle, external Wi-Fi adapters, and other companion hardware are not included unless specifically stated.
SIM card, cellular service plan, Raspberry Pi companion device, GPS dongle, and external adapters are not included unless explicitly listed.
Device may be new, open-box, or refurbished depending on available stock. Each unit is flashed and tested before shipping. Cosmetic condition may vary.
This device is provided for privacy, education, diagnostics, and authorized security research only.
Only use scanning, testing, monitoring, or research features on systems, networks, and devices you own or have explicit permission to test. The buyer is responsible for complying with all applicable laws, carrier terms, local rules, and acceptable-use policies.

These links identify the upstream project, its documentation, and available self-installation or reprogramming information. STS Collective provides prepared hardware for customers who prefer not to assemble or flash a device themselves.
Flashing your own compatible device is usually manageable when you follow the project guide. STS Collective provides a ready-to-use flashed device for customers who prefer convenience. You do not need to buy a flashed unit to use the project.
Use the guide for your exact board and selected firmware:
Confirm the board revision, firmware target, power requirements, and current release before flashing. Reflashing replaces the installed firmware and may erase settings.
